Serbian Society of Plant Physiology (SPPS), the Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković” – National Istitute of the Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade and the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade are organizing the international conference called “5th International Conference on Plant Biology (24th SPPS Meeting)” which will take place at the Srebrno jezero, in the Danubia Park Hotel from October 3rd to October 5th 2024

Workshop on “Methodology of iridoids diversity investigation within the genus Nepeta”

Project “Omics-guided disentangling of the iridoid diversity in the genus Nepeta L. for in planta metabolic engineering towards sustainable exploitation” (NEPETOME), supported by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, #Grant No 7749433, organizes a one-day workshop on “Methodology of iridoids diversity investigation within the genus Nepeta” that will take place on 6^th October 2022 at Botanical garden “Jevremovac” in Belgrade. The workshop is organized for postgraduate and PhD students whose work focuses on plant physiology and molecular biology.

The lectures within the workshop aim to introduce the participants to the biology of different Nepeta species, as well as the possibilities of using the most modern methods of metabolic engineering, thus making the initial steps towards the large-scale production of Nepeta iridoids in plant factories. The participants will have the opportunity to interlink diverse theoretical concepts with cutting-edge methodology for their validation.

Selected speakers are Dr. Uroš Gašić, Dr. Jasmina Nestorović Živković, Dr. Slavica Dmitrović, Dr. Dragana Matekalo, Dr. Branislav Šiler, Dr. Tijana Banjanac, Dr. Jelena Božunović, Dr. Neda Aničić and PhD student Luka Petrović from the Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković” – National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade.

NEPETOME Workshop 2022 is envisioned to help students in their professional development, as well as their networking opportunities. Students are expected to take an active role in discussions on various topics.

On behalf of the Serbian Society of Plant Physiology (SPPS) and Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković”, the Organizing Committee is pleased to invite you to attend the “4^th International Conference on Plant Biology (23^rd SPPS Meeting)”, which will take place in Belgrade (Serbia), from Thursday 6^th to Saturday 8^th October 2022.

In the framework of the conference, an important jubilee will be marked, 50 years from the founding of the SPPS.

The Conference will be organized as a “hybrid” meeting, which will convene in a physical location and also allow for virtual participation. All scientific sessions at the SPPS conference will be open to virtual registered attendees through live streaming.

The course, that will be held at Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops Novi Sad, Serbia, on May 29-31, 2018, is aimed at professionals who are involved in plant breeding and germplasm improvement. It is an opportunity for breeders to expand their knowledge on new strategies and technologies that are applied in breeding programs, as well as R software and its use in plant breeding. to be held in June 2-6, 2018 in the Conference Center of the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, C2H4ANIA, Crete, GREECE.

ETHYLENE meetings are an international affiliation of researchers working on all aspects of ETHYLENE, including investigations spanning from biosynthetic/sensing/transductive/responsive mechanisms to assessing the biological activities of this hormone. This affiliation hosts meetings every 3-4 years that took place in Europe, USA, New Zealand and China for the past two decades.

The 2018 meeting is organized by Prof. Angelos Kanellis, Prof. Mondher Bouzayen and Dr. Panagiotis Kalaitzis in close collaboration with the Scientific Organizing committee.

FESPB Congress 2018

The deadline to apply for the FESPB Awards is March 9th.
Each National Representative from the Federation is asked to propose one candidate to apply for the 2018 Awards.
Winners will receive funds (1,500 Euros) towards their travel, registration and accommodation at the Congress. They will also receive a certificate and present an oral presentation at a plenary session of the Congress.
